Homemade Facial and Hair Mask

Afternoon everyone…. Today I decided to bring the salon home and make my own face and hair mask. Normally Im quite lazy and tend to head to the local beauticians and hair salon to sort myself out but today I thought Id be proactive and try and do it myself. I started off making the Oatmeal face mask, now holy crap, this was the most messiest thing Ive ever done in my life, By the time I had it on it was dripping everywhere but it did leave my skin nice and soft. I probably wouldn’t go for that particular one again. The hair mask, however, was a different story… Very easy to whip up and it did leave my hair looking nice and glossy – woop woop.

Oh and the picture of me with the stuff on actually makes me look quite creepy, especially with that extra dollop hanging of my nose!!! Like WTF is that. Anyway I could have spent hours trying to get the perfect shot but instead I decided to make myself a nice latte and let you folks get the shock of your lives instead – wink wink!!

Oatmeal Face Mask

  • ½ Cup of hot water – not boiling
  • 1/3 cup oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp plain yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 small egg white.

Mix the hot water and oatmeal together and leave to settle for 2/3 minutes. Then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

Apply a thin layer to the face and leave on for 10/15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Banana & Honey Smoothie for the Hair

  • 1 Banana
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 5 tbsp Olive oil

I actually popped all the ingredients into the blender and whizzed away. I then layered it all over my head and left for 25 minutes. Rinse out and shampoo and condition as normal.

So guys there you have it. I would definitely try out the hair mask again as it really left my hair looking and feeling good. Do try it out and let me know if you have any other homemade spa treatments I could try

Love Gxxx
